IMIDRO Reviews Upstream Steel Output During March 20-Oct. 21

A total of 28.82 million tons of iron ore concentrate were produced during the first seven months of the fiscal year, marking a 4% increase compared with the same period of last year. 

According to IMIDRO, Golgohar Mining and Industrial Complex had the highest share of the output by producing 9.56 million tons. A year-on-year comparison of the company’s output indicates a 1% increase. 

Chadormalu Mining and Industrial Complex came next with 6.48 million tons (up 12% YOY), followed by Middle East Mines and Mining Industries Development Holding Company with 3.8 million tons (up 26% YOY) and Goharzamin Iron Ore Company with 2.62 million tons (up 2% YoY) of output during the period.

Other major producers included Iran Central Iron Ore Company with 2.43 million tons (down 16% YOY), National Development Company with 1.46 million tons (up 14% YOY) and Opal Parsian Sangan with 1.34 million tons (down 23% YOY).

Sabanour Mining and Industrial Development Company recorded the highest increase in iron ore concentrate production during the seven months. The company’s output increased by 53% to reach 850,690 tons. 

Iron ore concentrate output during the sixth Iranian month (Sept. 22-Oct. 21) amounted to 4.20 million tons to register a 8% growth compared with last year’s same month. 

Golgohar Mining and Industrial Complex was the leading producer during the month, solely accounting for 1.45 million tons of the monthly output. Chadormalu Mining and Industrial Complex came after with 945,510 tons of the monthly output.

The National Development Company and Chadormalu Mining and Industrial Complex registered the highest increase during the month, 48% and 37%, respectively.

 

Pellet

The pellet output of major steel mills amounted to 26.819 million tons in the seven-month period, posting a growth of 10% compared with the same period of previous year.

Golgohar was again the largest producer with 7.382 million tons (up 4% YOY), followed by Mobarakeh Steel Company with 4.43 million tons (up 5% YOY), MIDHCO with 3.89 million (up 19% YOY), Khouzestan Steel Company with 3.46 million tons (down 7% YOY) and Chadormalu with 2.18 million tons (up 10% YOY).

Other major pellet producers included Opal Parsian Sangan with 1.92 million tons (up 1% YOY), Sangan Mineral and Industrial Company with 1.65 million tons (up 40% YOY), Khorasan Steel Company with 914,399 tons (up 24% YOY). 

Sangan Mineral and Industrial Company registered the largest growth in pellet output during the above-mentioned period at 40%, compared with the same period of last year. 

Pellet production witnessed an 18% year-on-year increase during the seventh month to 3.985 million tons, IMIDRO’s data show. 

Opal Parsian Sangan registered the highest jump in output during the month at 76%. Khorasan Steel Company's monthly output fell by 29%, to become the only firm among major players with a negative monthly output.
