It was reported that India announced on Monday (February 1) that it will temporarily suspend the anti-dumping (AD) duties on some steel products from China, Vietnam, and South Korea as the surging steel prices in the Indian market hit the domestic small and medium-sized manufacturing companies.

As part of the government’s budget 2021-22, the AD duties on imports of alloy steel bars, rods, and flat steel products coated or plated with aluminum or zinc will be canceled until September 30. The adjustment has put into force from Tuesday (February 2).

In addition, India also said that the tariffs on semi-finished products, flat and long products of non-alloy, alloy, and stainless steel will be cut to 7.5% from the existing 10%-12.5%.
