Indian crude steel output soars in May

According to statistics, India produced approximately 5.3 million tons of crude steel in May, soaring by 70% from 3.14 million tons in the previous month while dropping by 44% from 9.5 million tons in May last year. The capacity utilization rate and output of steel mills increased significantly after the epidemic slowed.

Besides, the consumption of Indian steel reached 3.04 million tons in May, skyrocketing by 210% from 980,000 tons in a month ago due to demand growth in downstream industries such as the construction and automotive industry.
