Based on Cybex customs data, India exported about 72,000 tons of hot-rolled coil (HRC) in October, marking a 28% drop from the previous month and the second consecutive month of decline. In September, India’s HRC exports fell by 21% from the previous month to nearly 100,000 tons. The data includes items classified under HS code 7208.

Nepal, Italy, and the United Arab Emirates were the top destinations for India’s HRC exports in October. Exports to Nepal rose by 22% month on month to about 43,000 tons.

Exports to Italy totaled 20,000 tons, down by 44% from September. Overall, shipments to Europe declined by 65% month on month to 22,000 tons, with Italy accounting for 93% of these exports. India’s HRC exports to the EU declined due to weak European demand and ongoing anti-dumping risks for Indian coils.
