The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) of India has convened a meeting of shareholders and creditors of JSL and JSHL to approve the proposed merger of the two companies.

With the expansion, the combined company will have an annual production capacity of 2.9 million tons by FY23, making it one of the top stainless steel companies in the world.

The merger will take effect on the date specified on April 1, 2020. The combination of JSHL and JSL will create a large stainless steel group that will propel Jindal into the top 10 stainless steel producers in the world even at current production levels.

The combined entity will have a diversified end-to-end product portfolio of more than 120 stainless steel grades with 360-degree coverage for customers in all market segments.
