Shyam Metalics and Energy Limited (SMEL), an India-based metal-producing company, has launched new grades of stainless steel, including 904L Super Austenitic Stainless Steel, Duplex, and Super Duplex Steels.

These materials offer good strength and corrosion resistance for demanding industries such as aerospace, defence, marine, and chemicals. These stainless steel solutions strengthen the company's position as a global supplier, with exports now reaching countries like Japan, Spain, and Italy.

The company announced a significant increase in its stainless steel business. In August, sales of stainless longs reached over 9,300 tons, up by 33% year on year. Production also surged in July, with output rising by 42.2% year on year to 8,102 tons.

SMEL's growth was due to rising domestic demand and a wider product range. With promising international orders, the company is confident about continued expansion.
