Aluminum Corporation of China Limited (Chalco) said that Indonesia’s ban on bauxite exports has little impact on Chalco’s business as it has the Boffa bauxite project in Guinea, whose first phase has reached the production standard, which will support the company’s bauxite output.

Chalco also said that the proportion of imported ore from Indonesia should be very small, so it will have little impact on it.

Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Investment/Chairman of Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), said that the Indonesian government will ban bauxite and tin exports this year to support the country’s domestic mining downstream construction.
