Indonesia’s coal exports hit new high in Mar

According to data from Statistics Indonesia, Indonesia exported a total of around 44.3 million tons of coal in March this year, hiking by nearly 44% compared to the previous month and also rising by 29% from the same month a year ago, hitting a new high since January 2014.
During the period, the value of these exports amounted to around US$4.6 billion, a month-on-month increase of 56.8% and a year-on-year jump of 230%.
In the first quarter of this year, Indonesia exported approximately 88.4 million tons of coal, down by 16.9% year on year. The revenue generated by these exports totaled US$8.7 billion, surging by 115.8% year on year.
