Iran's crude steel output expected to reach 30 million tons in current calendar year

Iran's Ministry of Industry, Mining and Trade said that with the expansion of the country's steel industry capacity, crude steel output in Iran's current calendar year (March 21, 2020-March 20, 2021) was expected to reach 30 million tons.

According to the World Steel Association, Iran produced 31.9 million tons of crude steel in 2019, and it was expected to become the eighth largest steel producer by 2025.

The country has set a target of producing 55 million tons of crude steel by 2025.
