Iran's crude steel output increases by 10.2% in H1 2020

According to the latest report released by the World Steel Association, Iran produced 13.89 million tons of crude steel in the first half of 2020 (January to June), an increase of 10.2% compared to the same period in 2019.

Iran remains the tenth largest producer of crude steel in the world.

The country ranked between Brazil (9th) and Vietnam (11th) in the ranking of global crude steel producers. Brazil's production in the first half of the year was 14.24 million tons and Vietnam was 10.85 million tons.

The 62 steel-producing countries around the world produced 873 million tons of crude steel in the first six months, down by 6% year on year.
