Iron ore price rout continues with drop below $US100 a tonne

Iron ore swung near $US100 a tonne as data from China painted a mixed picture of the outlook for demand from the country’s steel industry.

Futures — which sank more than 13 per cent last week — initially shed as much as 3 per cent to $US97/t in Singapore on Monday morning, then rebounded.
