Israeli Minister of Economy and Industry Nir Barkat approved a five-year anti-dumping (AD) duty on aluminum profiles and tubes from China. This decision aims to protect domestic factories from unfair pricing strategies that caused significant financial losses and layoffs.

An investigation spanning from July 2024 to September 2025 confirmed that Chinese exporters utilized excess capacity to sell goods at artificially low prices, damaging local market shares.

Fourteen Chinese manufacturers now face an average duty of 37%, while other exporters will be subject to a 105% duty.

Minister Barkat described productive independence as a security necessity, aligning Israel’s trade policy with similar measures in the US and EU. The proposal now awaits final confirmation from the Minister of Finance and the Finance Committee.
