According to the Japan Aluminium Association (JAA), the output of Japan’s aluminum products totaled around 145,000 tons in November this year, falling by 4.7% compared to the year-ago level, the twentieth consecutive month of reduction.
Among them, the output of aluminum plates dropped by 3.8% to roughly 89,000 tons, and that of aluminum extrusion fell by 6% to 56,000 tons, both year on year.
In terms of shipment, Japan shipped 5.1% fewer aluminum products from last November, down to around 144,000 tons. The shipment of aluminum plates was down by 4.6% year on year to 87,100 tons.
Among them, the demand for aluminum cans rose by 0.4% year on year to nearly 30,000 tons, and the need for the automobile industry grew by 18.9% year on year to 19,200 tons, primarily due to an increase in automobile production. The domestic automobile output in Japan rose by nearly 18% year on year to roughly 818,400 units in October.
