Japan’s domestic carbon steel sales rise in Jan

According to statistics from the Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF), Japan’s domestic sales of finished carbon steel totaled roughly 3.3 million tons in January, increasing by 3.8% compared to the same month a year ago.

However, the figure was down by 3.6% from the previous month as the base in December 2020 was relatively high. The sales volume in January remained healthy and is still rising.
