Japan’s JFE Bars & Shapes Corporation (JFE BS) has chosen Danieli as its technology partner to replace an existing DC electric arc furnace (EAF) with a new 120-ton Danieli Digimelter at its Mizushima Works in Japan.

This project, planned for operation in early 2028, significantly strengthens JFE's operational efficiency and sustainability commitment.

The new Digimelter incorporates Danieli's Q-One® power system, which promises precise control over melting parameters. The new EAF will produce high-quality billets from recycled steel scrap, which are then rolled into reinforcing bars and structural shapes for construction and infrastructure projects.

The Q-One technology is designed to reduce energy and electrode consumption while minimizing grid disturbances, aligning with the JFE Group's decarbonization goals.
