UACJ Corporation, the largest manufacturer of aluminum products in Japan, said on May 19th that it has cut its domestic production of aluminum because the demand for aluminum products has decreased obviously since April due to the COVID-19 epidemic outbreak.

Moreover, the demand for automotive-related industries also became sluggish in May due to the suspension of domestic assembly plants. UACJ slowed the operation of its aluminum extrusion works in Thailand to face the weak demand in the automotive industry, but the operations at the other works in China and Southeast Asia were kept normal.
