JW Aluminum, a leading producer of flat-rolled aluminum products based in South Carolina, announced that it has planned to close its rolling mill in Williamsport, Pennsylvania before January 29, 2021.

Stan Brant, Jr., the CEP of JW Aluminum, said that the aerospace industry has been seriously impacted by the COVID-19 epidemic, while the Williamsport rolling mill’s aerospace-related products account for more than half of the total output, which makes the plant suffer great losses.

The CEO said that the shutdown was expected to affect 65 employees, and JW Aluminum is currently seeking potential buyers for the Williamsport rolling mill.
