Kaiser Aluminum to idle extrusions plant in Sherman

Tennessee-based Kaiser Aluminum plans to idle its soft alloy aluminum extrusions plant in Sherman, Texas. The company filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notice in early June, affecting 75 employees with layoffs expected on July 11.

Kaiser Aluminum produces various extruded soft alloys, including tubes, pipes, rods, and bars. The Sherman facility is located about 50 miles from the company's plant in Commerce, Texas.
