After what it referred to as ‘‘a stoppage due to technical reasons’’, the state Libya Iron and Steel Company (LISCO) announced Friday that it had resumed the production of its 6mm steel wire coil. The steel wire coil is used in Libya mostly in the construction sector.

The resumption of production is timely as the country is at the beginnings of a small construction boom after the end of the fighting

The Misrata-based company reported that it was now producing 390 tons per day divided over 130 tons per shift in three shifts per day.
