Metro Mining Limited, an Australia-based exploration and mining company, reported that its bauxite output totaled 729,000 wet tons in the second quarter of this year, falling by 48.6% compared to the same period a year ago. During the period, Metro Mining's bauxite shipment was 629,000 wet tons, a year-on-year decrease of 49.7%.

The year-on-year decline in both bauxite output and shipment was that Metro Mining reduced production and shipping activities due to higher freight fees, macroeconomic conditions, and bad weather conditions.

Under the consideration of the current market environment and rising freight fees, Metro Mining aimed to sell 3.3 million to 3.5 million wet tons this year.
