In 2024, Metro Mining's Bauxite Hills project in Australia shipped 5.7 million wet metric tons of bauxite, up by 24% year on year, but it failed to meet its previous shipment guidance due to the cancellation of the last cape vessel due to bad weather conditions in December.

Despite this, shipments for the month hit a record high of 480,000 tons, a year-on-year hike of 53%.

Shipments in the fourth quarter of 2024 amounted to 2.1 million wet metric tons, with 100,000 wet metric tons shipped in the first five days of January 2025.

The target shipment volume for 2025 was set at 6.5-7 million wet metric tons.
