The Mexican government announced new tariffs on imports from countries without a free trade agreement, including several categories of steel, aluminum, and ferroalloy products.

Affected metal products include alloyed and non-alloyed unwrought aluminum sheets and coils, steel plates, and ferromanganese. The tariff range is 20% to 35%.

These tariffs apply only to imports from countries without trade agreements with Mexico. Countries that have signed trade treaties with Mexico are not subject to tariffs. For example, goods through the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement still receive preferential trade treatment.
