Nickel Asia Corp., the largest producer of nickel ore in the Philippines, plans to construct two more mines and investigate the possibility of constructing a third processing plant in the next three years.

Nickel Asia plans to produce at least 4 million wet metric tonnes (WMT) of nickel ore annually from the Bulanjao mine in southwestern Palawan and at least 2 million WMT from the Manicani mine in central Samar province.

Additionally, it intends to expand ore shipments from its Dinapigue mine in the northeastern Isabela province and to develop the Kepha site near its existing Taganito mine in the southern province of Surigao del Norte, which will initially produce 2 million WMT annually.

Nickel Asia sold 15.93 million WMT of nickel ore last year, down by 11.2% compared to the sales in 2021 due to adverse weather.
