Novelis Inc., a subsidiary of India's Hindalco Industries Limited and the world's largest aluminum recycler, has reached an agreement with the European manufacturer of roof windows, VELUX Group.

Novelis will provide VELUX with rolled aluminum sheets with a recycled content of about 70% for the manufacture of roof windows. Recycled aluminum has a 95% reduction in carbon emissions compared to non-recycled aluminum.

The agreement would allow VELUX to reduce its carbon emissions to below 4.0kg per kilogram of rolled aluminum it supplies by the end of 2024.

Nikolaj Cederquist, vice president of global procurement at VELUX, expressed the new agreement would help the company to achieve its carbon neutrality goals.
