Outokumpu, a leading stainless steel manufacturer in Europe based in Finland, has reached an agreement to deliver Outokumpu Circle Green®, the world’s first towards-zero stainless steel, to Siemens, a technology company focused on industry, infrastructure, transport, and healthcare, for production of medium-voltage switchgear used in wind turbines’ electric cabinets.

The carbon footprint of Outokumpu Circle Green® is up to 93% lower than the industry average. It has CO2 emissions down to 0.5kg CO2e per kg of stainless steel compared to the 2023 global average emissions of 7 kg CO2e per kg of stainless steel.

This cooperation supports the two companies’ ambitions of net-zero targets.
