Outokumpu, the global leader in sustainable stainless steel, launched its Circle Green® solution two years ago, offering stainless steel with up to 93% lower carbon footprint than the global industry average.

Since its launch, more than 30 companies in Europe and Asia have used this solution, reducing 50,400 tons of carbon emissions, equivalent to the annual emissions of nearly 7,000 EU citizens.

Outokumpu plans to expand its low-emission stainless steel portfolio in 2025. The growing demand for green steel is driven by sustainability goals, stricter environmental regulations, and innovations in green steel production, though challenges like high investment costs and renewable energy availability remain.
