POSCO resumes No. 2 cold-rolled stainless steel mill & No. 1 electrical steel mill in Pohang

South Korean steelmaker POSCO has resumed production at its No. 2 cold-rolled stainless steel mill and No. 1 electrical steel mill in Pohang, which were suspended due to a fire caused by Typhoon Hinnamnor in September last year.
The No. 2 cold-rolled stainless steel mill, accounting for 70% of Pohang Works’ annual cold-rolled stainless steel production capacity, was restarted last December 24, which was expected to stabilize the domestic stainless steel supply and demand.
The operations of the No. 1 electrical steel mill were resumed on December 30. It accounts for about 60% of the capacity of grain-oriented electrical steel products.
