Recycled aluminum producer Real Alloys, in partnership with Enviri subsidiary Altek and the US Department of Energy's Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations, planned to build a zero-waste aluminum salt slag recycling facility.

The system, to be installed in Wabash, Indiana, will utilize Altek's AluSalt salt slag processing technology to recover metals and salts and recycle other non-metallic products.

AluSalt's technology is designed to reduce carbon emissions, eliminate landfills associated with salt slag recycling and generate by-products that are reused in Real Alloy's recycling process, as well as in the cement and steel industries.

Altek currently has active installations in over 600 locations worldwide.
