Reliance Steel & Aluminum acquires Canada's metal product producer

Reliance Steel & Aluminum Co., the largest metals service center operator in North America, announced that it has acquired Nu-Tech Precision Metals Inc., located near Ottawa, Ontario. The company is specialized in customized manufacturing of special extruded metals, manufactured parts, and welded parts. Products include pipe, tube, engineering shapes, round and flat bars from pure metal and special metal alloys.

Jim Hoffman, CEO of Reliance, expressed that Nu-Tech's focus on specially processed products with high added value is consistent with Reliance's business model and strategy of investing in high-quality, high-profit businesses. The addition of Nu-Tech would expand Reliance's product breadth in specialty metals.
