Global mining group Rio Tinto began the Mongolian copper project, the Oyu Tolgoi copper mine, once again by reaching an agreement with the government of Mongolia and solving key issues.

The Oyu Tolgoi project will produce its peak capacity of 500,000 tons of metal annually, and it will double Rio Tinto’s copper division output. The project will become one of the biggest copper mines in the world.

This mine will begin its production in the first half of 2023. The government will allow the company to import power from China until 2030 if a domestic energy source is not available.
