Rio Tinto to cooperate with Canadian McEwen Mining to develop Elder Creek project in Nevada

McEwen Copper Inc., a subsidiary of Canadian mining company McEwen Mining, signed an agreement with Rio Tinto’s subsidiary, Kennecott Exploration Company.

In the agreement, Kennecott will invest US$18 million in the future seven years and become the operator to obtain an option to earn a 60% interest in Elder Creek property in Nevada.

After that, Kennecott and McEwen Copper will together form an unincorporated joint venture.
