Rio Tinto & Unifor Local 2301 to resume negotiations this week

It was reported that Rio Tinto and Canada's union Unifor Local 2301 decided to resume their negotiations and continue the discussion on the issue of the Kitimat aluminum smelter strike in Vancouver this week.

The strike at the aluminum smelter in Kitimat, Canada has entered the fourth week. The senior officials of Rio Tinto’s Montreal headquarters and Unifor Local 2301’s president had a similar meeting on August 12, hoping to end the strike that has been started since July 25.
