Rio Tinto's aluminum production grows in Q1

Rio Tinto, a leading global mining group, reported that its aluminum production totaled 803,000 tons in the first quarter of this year, growing by 2.6% compared to the same period a year ago, lower than analysts’ estimate at 816,000 tons.

During the period, Rio Tinto's bauxite production reached 13.6 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.5%; alumina production was 2.03 million tons, up by 1.2% year on year.

Besides, Rio Tinto’s production guidance of bauxite was maintained at 56 million to 59 million tons for this year.
