Rio Tinto’s bauxite & aluminum output grows in Q4 2023

According to the production results released by the global mining company Rio Tinto, the company’s bauxite production reached 15.1 million tons in the fourth quarter of 2023, increasing by 15% compared to the corresponding period a year ago.

During the period, aluminum production was 846,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 8%. Alumina output was 1.92 million tons, down by 1% year on year.

In 2023, Rio Tinto’s bauxite production amounted to 54.6 million tons, keeping flat year on year; aluminum production was 3.37 million tons, up by 9% year on year; alumina production totaled 7.54 million tons, maintaining stable compared to the prior year.
