Rusal launches new 5005A aluminum alloy

Global aluminum leader Rusal debuted its development of a new 5005A aluminum alloy designed for anodizing applications.
Rusal’s new 5005A aluminum alloy has a good acceptance of anodization, and the surface may be coated with a protective oxide film that provides hardness similar to diamond. The anodization of aluminum also improves corrosion resistance, useful life, and better appearance.
The company predicted that the Russian domestic market for 5005A aluminum alloy is around 50,000 tons per year, and downstream applications are facing panels, spotlights, and electrolytic capacitors.
However, currently, Rusal only exports the new 5005A aluminum alloy, but it was expected to be supplied to domestic buyers soon.
