RUSAL's bauxite production slides, alumina production rises in Q3

United Company RUSAL (RUSAL), the second-largest aluminum producer in the world, reported its bauxite production slid by 1.6% quarter on quarter to roughly 3.83 million tons, mainly due to bad weather in Guinea and Jamaica.

During the same period, RUSAL’s alumina production had a slight increase of 0.4% compared to the previous quarter, reaching around 2.02 million tons, of which Russia accounted for 35% of the operation.

In the first three quarters, RUSAL's bauxite production amounted to around 11.3 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 6.01%; the alumina production reached roughly 6.04 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 4%.
