Russia’s stainless steel exports slide in Jan-Sep

According to the Russian Special Steel and Alloys Consumers and Suppliers Association (USSA), Russia’s stainless steel exports totaled around 8,700 tons in the first nine months of this year, dropping by 11.7% compared to the same period a year ago.
Among them, the exports to Ukraine accounted for 29.1% of the total, the largest proportion. Bangladesh ranked second with a share of 28.1%, followed by Uzbekistan’s 10.1% and Italy’s 6.9%.
During the same period, Russia’s stainless steel scrap exports amounted to roughly 93,100 tons, a year-on-year hike of 8.5%.
