According to statistics from the Russian Special Steel and Alloys Consumers and Suppliers Association (USSA), Russia imported around 44,000 tons of stainless steel in July this year, rising by 4.6% compared to the previous month and by 39% from the same month a year ago.

Among them, the imports of cold-rolled stainless steel increased by 14%, hot-rolled stainless steel dropped by 11%, welded pipes decreased by 33%, seamless pipes fell by 17%, wire declined by 8.3%, and long products rose by 18%.

Russia’s stainless steel imports from China accounted for the largest proportion at 54%.

USSA said Russia’s stainless steel imports remained good due to support by the domestic market demand.
