According to statistics from the Russian Special Steel and Alloys Consumers and Suppliers Association (USSA), Russia imported around 42,000 tons of stainless steel in June this year, falling by 9.3% compared to the previous month and rising by 45% from the same month a year ago.

Among them, the imports of cold-rolled stainless steel fell by 5%, hot-rolled stainless steel dropped by 22%, welded pipes decreased by 22%, seamless pipes rose by 38%, wire declined by 30%, and long products slid by 25%.

Russia’s stainless steel imports from China accounted for the largest proportion at 56%.

Driven by strong demand in the domestic market, Russia’s stainless steel importing performance is in good shape.
