Russia’s stainless steel imports slide in Mar

According to statistics released by the Russian Special Steel and Alloys Consumers and Suppliers Association (SpetsStal Association), Russia imported around 27,900 tons of stainless steel in March this year, dropping by 39% compared to the previous month and also falling by 20% from the same month a year ago.

During the period, the import volume of stainless steel flat-rolled products was down by 25% and that of stainless steel long products slid by 12%, both month on month.

The imports of stainless steel cold-rolled products fell by 49% month on month, but the volume of stainless steel seamless pipes and wire had a month-on-month growth of 34% and 15%, respectively.
