Russia’s stainless steel production decreases in Aug

In August alone, Russia’s stainless steel production was 17,900 tons, a year-on-year reduction of 3.1%; the imports had a year-on-year hike of 20.1% to approximately 41,700 tons.
According to statistics from the Russian Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat), Russia’s stainless steel production totaled around 137,000 tons in the first eight months of this year, decreasing by 4.1% compared to the same period a year ago. The import volume reached around 283,200 tons, up by 6.5% year on year.
