Russia’s stainless steel scrap exports hike in Aug

According to the Russian Special Steel and Alloys Consumers and Suppliers Association (USSA), Russia’s stainless steel scrap exports totaled 10,300 tons in August, falling by 31.4% compared to the previous month while rising by 34.1% from the same month a year ago. The export value totaled roughly US$18 million, a month-on-month drop of 24% and a year-on-year surge of 114%.

In the first eight months of this year, Russia’s stainless steel scrap exports amounted to 89,100 tons, a year-on-year increase of 25.1%. The export value during the period had a year-on-year hike of 88%, reaching US$136 million.
