According to Li Wei, Chairman of Henan Shenhuo Group Co., Ltd., due to production restrictions and destocking amid economic recovery and strong demand, China’s aluminum prices will grow stably and domestic smelters’ profit margins will be in a good shape in the first half of this year.

China’s measures on the power supply and environmental protection will affect the development of new capacities. The production capacity of primary aluminum in China has been set at an upper limit of around 45 million tons per year.

With a global economic recovery from the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, aluminum consumption is keeping its growth worldwide, which is expected to benefit China’s aluminum prices in the long run.
