Slovenia’s SIJ suspends stainless steel operation at SIJ Acroni

Slovenska Industrija Jekla (SIJ), a leading producer of stainless steel and special steel in Slovenia, suspended production at SIJ Acroni due to big damage caused by an accident at a hot rolling mill on July 13. The production was expected to stop for up to three months.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the accident. The company said that the incident will greatly affect the SIJ Group’s operations, but no layoffs are expected and no timely obligations will be affected.
