The cumulative reduced production capacity in Europe has reached around 1.538 million tons so far, accounting for 15% of the total primary aluminum production capacity in Europe.

In 2021, the European aluminum smelters cut their production by 928,000 tons due to soaring energy prices, accounting for 12.4% of the total annual output in Europe.

With the current surging energy prices, it was expected that more aluminum smelters will cut output in the fourth quarter of this year.
