South Africa's iron ore output increases by 17.7% in May m-o-m

Statistics released by Statistics South Africa (Stats SA) showed that South Africa’s iron ore mining production index in May increased by 17.7% month on month, and nickel output increased by 486% month on month.

However, the output of iron ore decreased by 66.3% compared with the same period last year, and the output of nickel also decreased by 25.7% compared with the same period last year.

In addition, after adjusting prices in May, South Africa’s iron ore sales increased by 10.3% from the previous month to 5.74 billion rand.
