South32’s Q2 alumina output exceeds analysts’ expectation

South32, a mining and metals company headquartered in Australia, reported its alumina output totaling 1.4 million tons in the second fiscal quarter, exceeding analysts’ expectation at 1.33 million tons.

During the same period, South32’s aluminum production reached 248,000 tons, which met analysts’ estimate. The output of metallurgical coal amounted to 1.4 million tons, compared to analysts’ expected 1.33 million tons.
