The newly developed alloy boasts a range of benefits, including lightweight properties, high strength, excellent tensile characteristics, and cost-effectiveness. It represents a cutting-edge, high-toughness aluminium alloy material resulting from a collaborative effort between a domestic scientific research institution and Southwest Aluminum.
However, the alloy presented formidable challenges during the melting and casting processes, including difficulties in achieving a proper molten state and susceptibility to issues such as cracks and slag inclusion, leading to the rejection of ingots.
In response to these challenges, the melting and casting Plant responded with decisive action, forming a dedicated technical research team. They implemented a comprehensive process tracking system for melting and casting, bolstered process control measures, and diligently accumulated data.
Despite numerous setbacks, the skilled technicians persisted, continuously fine-tuning process parameters. Through perseverance and determination, the team finally succeeded in the alloy's trial production. This breakthrough stands as a testament to Southwest Aluminium's experts' unwavering commitment to innovation and problem-solving in the realm of aluminium alloy materials.
