Swiss Stahl Gerlafingen to install solar plant

Swiss Stahl Gerlafingen and ADEV, the energy cooperative, have signed the agreement. According to the agreement, ADEV will install a 2 MW solar plant on the roof of Stahl Gerlafingen’s rolling mill in the canton of Solothurn.
The plant was expected to produce 2 million kWh of solar energy every year and was planned to be completed in April 2024.
Stahl Gerlafingen owns about 540 employees, and its annual production of reinforcing and sectional steel is about 700,000 tons.
