Taiwan's import prices for 300-series stainless steel hot-rolled coil had a consecutive second monthly increase in October, climbing back above the NT$56,000 level to reach a five-month high. This latest price point continued a trend of rising costs since hitting a three-and-a-half-year low in August.

However, the volume of imports showed a significant drop, falling to approximately 30,000 tons in October. This 48% month-on-month decrease ended a three-month period of increasing import volumes.

The data indicated a reversal in trend, with prices advancing while the quantity of imported material substantially decreased.
